Jackie Taynor
Dance Instructor

Miss Jackie joined Studio One in 1998 and has become one of our most beloved teachers. Miss Jackie has been dancing most of her life. She has studied tap, jazz as well as ballet. But her favorite is the ballet. She graduated from Brenau with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Pedagogy. She danced with the Gainesville Ballet for four years. Some of Jackie’s other dance experiences include:

  • Member of the Gwinnett Dance Ensemble while in high school performing in The Jungle Book and International Celebration of Dance among many others.
  • Member of the Brenau Dance Ensemble while in college performing in the annual concert and the Fall Festival in the Gainesville Square.
  • Performer in An Evening of Dance - a student choreographed show at Brenau.
  • Performer in many Showcases, which are small performances organized by students at Brenau.
  • Participated in classes from guest teachers such as Gus Solomons, Jr., Karen Brown and guest artists with the Mark Morris Dance Company while at Brenau.
  • Teacher’s Assistant and backstage help during the American College Dance Festival hosted by Brenau in 2000.

Her sweet disposition and patience are some of her best virtues. But her talent to teach ballet is a close behind. She teaches pre-school, beginner tap & ballet as well as modern, lyrical, pointe & ballet classes. We are very proud to have her with our family.

Edwina Lowe Day

We welcome our newest instructor. Edwina graduated from FSU with a degreein Finance, then decided she wanted to pursue her passion “Dance”. She has studied with Mia Michaels, Dee Caspary as well as Hope Boykin of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre. She began dance at the age of 3 and has continued to grow as a Dancer, Performer and Choreographer. She has appeared in many music videos and worked with some of today’s hottest entertainers. Edwina now wants to share her talent with our students & to teach them the great joy she receives from her love of dance. Her favorite saying is “a dancer is not great because of their technique, but because of their passion”. She will be teaching hip hop, Jazz III, Adult jazz & Jr. & Sr. Companies. We are so fortunate & extremely pleased to welcome Miss Edwina Lowe Day to our family.

Courtney Knisley Epps

Tap Instructor

dscn8043Courtney is presently in College pursuing a career in Pharmacy. She studied at Studio One from the age of 3 until graduation from High School. She rejoined our Studio in 2005 as the instructor for Jr. Company, Adult Tap & Tap III.  Miss Courtney’s job, studies, as well as her husband (Keith) does not allow her much time to teach dance; but we are glad she is still with us, if only for the Tap III class. She is definitely an asset to Studio One.
